MOSCOW, May 12 - RIA Novosti. The Ministry of Digital Affairs of Russia will introduce a transitional period of three months for operators to register M2M SIM cards (special machine-to-machine SIM cards that allow remote control of the operation of various systems. - Ed.) In the Unified Identification and Authentication System ( ESIA), the press service of the ministry told RIA Novosti.

Amendments to the Law "On Communications" require all connected legal entities to enter information about SIM card users into the ESIA.

On Wednesday, the newspaper "Kommersant" wrote with reference to the responses of telecom operators to the amendments to the law "On Communications" that in the ESIA itself the ability to enter information about SIM card users has not yet been implemented.

According to the newspaper, operators received a delay for registering corporate subscribers until November 30, but this delay does not apply to SIM cards already used in devices. The operators proposed to provide for a transitional period for the registration of existing users of M2M SIM cards, the newspaper notes.

The Ministry of Finance reported that the department has decided to introduce a transitional period for the registration of M2M SIM cards. "Taking into account the proposals received during the public discussion, the draft resolution of the government of the Russian Federation will provide an opportunity for telecom operators to enter information about M2M SIM cards used in devices into the Unified Information System Agency within three months from the date of entry into force of this document, "- commented in the press service.

In addition, Russians will be able to remotely conclude contracts for the provision of communication services using the functionality of the State Services portal. “The Russian Ministry of Digital Affairs is working to create conditions for signing civil transactions using the e-government infrastructure so that Russians can perform legally significant actions remotely and in a safe environment,” the ministry concluded.
